YHA Wellington City hostel is one of the newest hostels that have opened with the city of Wellington.
Since it is so new, this hostel has been outfitted with the latest and most modern conveniences.
Many of the backpackers who have stayed here stated that they felt like they were staying at a hotel, instead of a hostel.
One of the greatest characteristics about YHA Wellington City hostel is its ability to provide their
guests with a comfortable experience. The rooms, even the dorms, are bright, spacious, and have very
comfortable beds. Some of the private rooms also have en-suite toilet facilities, so sharing is not necessary.
With its direct access to restaurants around the city of Wellington and the self-catering kitchen, guests at YHA
Wellington City hostel will have no worries about where they will eat.
What’s Good:
This is one of the newer hostels to be built within the city of Wellington, so travelers can take
advantage of the modern and clean facilities provided.
The beds are quite comfortable, and the hostel is able to provide hot showers twenty-four hours a day.
Therefore, there is no problem with having the hot water run out, as seen in the older hostels that have not renovated their plumbing.
What’s Not So Good:
This hostel has a tendency to fill quickly. Therefore, it is not always possible to obtain the room
type that is wanted, especially since the private rooms can go quickly.
Since this is a popular hostel to stay at, it might be necessary to queue or line up for the showers
in the morning. This is especially true if a large group has booked in at the hostel.
