London Heathrow Airport (LHR)
The Largest and Busiest Airport in the United Kingdom
The London Heathrow Airport is owned by BAA and is a major transportation hub for travel across the globe. Heathrow supports over 67 million passengers annually by over 90 airlines with 170 destinations. LHR is the primary hub of British Airways, BMI, and Virgin Atlantic.
Upon arrival, after leaving the aircraft, there will be signs that will take you through passport control, baggage reclaim and customs. When you are ready to leave the airport, you will be faced with several options. Since Heathrow is well connected, you can travel by car, train bus, taxi, or even by bicycle!
If you are needing a place to stay and are on a budget, be sure to check out our page on London Hostels. London offers many different forms of accommodations for every price range.
Be sure to book your flights in advance unless you want to pay through the nose for short term business flights. The official website offers a booking tool as do several discount travel websites.
