One of London’s funkiest hostels, Journeys King Cross Hostel thrives on making your stay as comfortable,
and as affordable as possible. This 90-bed hostel is located within walking distance of Kings Cross and
St. Pancras stations, and provides access to all of London’s airports. As a result of its location,
Journeys King Cross is a very popular destination for visitors wanting to stay close to central London.
Belonging to a chain of four other Journeys Hostels located throughout London, this hostel is lively,
and offers shared accommodation for students and backpackers. The hostel has quite a number of returning
guests, and is safe with 24-hour security.
What’s Good:
Journeys Kings Cross hostel gives backpackers the ability to stay somewhere without spending large
amounts of money. It also includes a free continental breakfast.
The hostel has a self-catering kitchen, and dining area allowing guests to buy food from a local
grocery store, and make their own meals. However, if the guest did not feeling like cooking at
the hostel, inexpensive restaurants are located nearby in Camden.
What’s Not So Good:
Like most hostels, this one tends to be noisy at night, especially on the weekends. Be prepared to
climb into a bunk bed without using a ladder, if this is the type of accommodation you have chosen.
Depending on how liberal you are, the hostel does offer unisex bathrooms for all guests to share,
but bathrooms are not always located on the same floor as dorm room. The dorm rooms can be a bit
small, and rooms can get “stuffy” if you have one in the basement. Overall, it is inexpensive
accommodation at a great location.
