For the non programmer, there is the Selenium-IDE, which is a Firefox plugin.  The plugin allows you to navigate through Firefox to verify or assert that the expected page content exists.  It also tracks as you click on links and navigate page to page.  You can even fill out forms. The IDE allows you to save your tests to HTML or one of several other programming languages. These scripts can then be passed on to Selenium RC.  Supported languages for the Selenium IDE are  HTML, Java, C#, Perl, PHP, Python, Ruby.

Selenium-RC allows you to integrate the Selenium API into your development environment.  As long as your programming language of choice supports sending and receiving HTTP PUTs and GETs, you can use Selenium RC.  What this means is that you can build more advanced test suites that can respond to failed tests.  Being able to incorporate an API also allows you to utilize programming logic such as loops and conditional statements.

Selenium-GRID expands on Selenium RC by allowing your tests to run simultaneously on multiple browsers, dramatically speeding up large testing suites.

The main difficulty in this level is that there is a large creep at both round 40 and 45 but there isn’t usually enough time to recharge the spider between the two.

What this means is that you will have to trigger the spider midway through stage 39.

Now to recap how I get there.  All my defenses are on the left half of the screen. This allows just a little extra time for the spider to recharge.

When I beat this level, I only had to sell two creeps in order to completely level up the last flashlight.

I have included a rough chart at the bottom of this post to suggest where to put your defenses.

Start by placing a laser creep on the bottom by the bend in the road, straight down below the bed.  Immediately level it up once and then start blasting the little rocks and to the left and to the right.   Either just before or just after you finish the first rock, you will need to shoot through the group of creeps that have come up on you.  As you finish the second rock you will be able to upgrade completely. be sure to get through all the creeps as they go by.

Add a second laser defense to the open space 2 squares below the spider and one to the left.  Now start shooting the big middle trees and stones one at a time in between taking out creeps. (start with the one in the middle above the first defender you placed)

As soon as you can, you will need to add a boomerang defender directly below the spider just above the lower road.  You will eventually add another one directly to its right.

To the left will be a flashlight and eventually directly below it as well.   to the left of the lower flashlight I have placed the third laser defender.

Note that in order to get the second flashlight, I had to sell the first two flashlights.

If a company is unable to manage its finances, if their customers are unable to make timely payments, or if your project gets cut due to corporate reorganization the result is often getting shifted to another position, but in all likelihood the result is getting laid off.

Fortunately, I am not stressed out. I know the ropes so to say and am in an industry that will likely lay me off in the future. I my have higher risks working with startups, but to me, the rewards are worth it!

Of course, that doesn’t provide immediate solutions for those who are still unemployed. My best advise for those individuals is to consider further education, other fields of employment, as well as relocation.

Hopefully the economy will continue to improve and these issues will be a problem of the past. But when all things are considered it sometimes comes down to being willing to change fields or relocate. Doing whatever needs to be done in order to survive is an important consideration. One can live off of unemployment benefits, but for how long.

I have personally gone on unemployment twice, each time for about a two month stretch. In all honesty I wasn’t super gone ho a out finding work. I still tried and got lucky but each time needed to recover psychologically from the blow of losing my job. I feel I got to use some of the benefits I pay for each year through taxes.

A friend of mine had a different situation. He was in a highly specialized field. One that is very difficult to get work in. Unfortunately this friend had to use all of his benefits and eventually ran out. In the end he had to change fields, but was willing to self teach himself the knowledge necessary to enter a new field. I look forward to seeing him succeed.

The jobs are out there, but are rarely listed. Most companies avoid listing these positions due to the sheer quantity of unqualified applicants they receive. Keep in mind that this doesn’t mean they aren’t interested, just that they are may not know how to acquire the right talent.

One place to start out is to see if your current employer would be willing to let you work from home on a full time or even part time basis.

If you don’t think your current employer will go for a work from home situation or if your current job just won’t convert well, consider taking your external search to sites like about.com and dice.com. Your chances of landing a telecommuting job go way up if you are in a technical computer based industry. Many companies don’t allow telecommuting immediately. This is usually to ensure that you are familiar with company protocol and to ensure that you can do the work while being managed.

As a side note, watch out for scams. Transcription jobs do exist, but are a popular scam area. Never take a job that makes you send them money or that send you a check that you get to keep part of after sending the rest on.
