Located in center of London near the famous Kings Cross Station, is the Ashlee House hostel.
The hostel was established next to one of Europe’s largest train stations. There are quite a
number of attractions located near Ashlee House. It is within walking distance of the British
Library, and the hostel is only minutes away from popular London areas such as Camden Town and
the British Museum.
Since it is located in the heart of London, Ashlee House is easily accessible by train, bus,
and subway from Kings Cross and St. Pancras stations. Spend time visiting the Beano Traditional
English Cafe, and order traditional English breakfast. It is also a quite short train ride from
Buckingham Palace and London Bridge.
What’s Good:
Ashlee House;s location conveniently allows visitors to explore without spending a fortune
on transportation. It is easily accessible to Camden Town and Portobello markets where vendors
sell everything from tasty ethnic food to pashmina scarves to local produce. Anyone staying at
Ashlee House is also able to sample the nightlife of Angel, SoHo, and Camden as there are
numerous pubs, bars, restaurants within the area.
What’s Not So Good:
The area surrounding Ashlee House is one of the busiest in London, so outside noise might be
a factor. It is great for young travelers and backpackers, but might not be ideal for families
with children, especially on a Friday or Saturday night. There are only a handful of rooms that
have lockers, so it is necessary to keep any valuables locked in bags, or placed in the safe at
reception. The hostel has completed a renovation, but it is advised to wake early to have a
shower, especially in the dorm rooms.
